Cultural Assets-Other

The rural landscape of Hinenosho Ogi

The Ogi district of Izumisano is surrounded by the verdant natural scenery of the Izumi Range. In October 2013, the area became the first site in Osaka Prefecture to be chosen as a nationally Important Cultural Landscape in recognition of farmland and settlements that take advantage of the area’s mountain-basin topography, shrines and temples connected to Hinenosho, reservoirs, waterways, and other features. Hinenosho was a private estate of the 13th century, and its remaining cultural assets have been designated a national Historic Site, the “Historical Remains of Hinenosho.”
