Seishu no Sato Roadside Station
This facility is named after Hanaoka Seishu, a Japanese surgeon whose accomplishments include the world’s first breast cancer operation under general anesthesia. The museum shop sells a wide range of products including local specialties. In Shunrinken, Dr. Hanaoka’s former hospital and medical school, you can buy Shiunko kampo ointment he invented.
