Satake Glass

This is the only colored glass workshop in Japan that has been making colored glass bars for craftwork since before World War II. The basis for a variety of glass crafts, the glass bars made here come in approximately 160 colors, each created by altering the composition of metallic oxide in the molten glass. There’s also a shop selling glass crafts. Visitors can try making glass themselves (fee: 2,000 yen).
